Jack Dee is writing a book in which he answers questions from fans.
The currently un-titled book is scheduled for publication in October 2021, and Dee is now soliciting questions via Twitter.
The stand-up says: “Thank you for reading this. I wanted to update you on what I’ve been up to.
“During lockdown I have retrained online as a psychotherapist and am now open for business. It was an arduous four hours study but worth it, as I now have a certificate of completion from The Ruislip College Of Advansed Learning (sic). And that means that I am fully qualified to handle most stuff.
“If you have an emotional, relationship, work or other issue that you need help with, or if you’ve just totally lost your shit and can’t take it anymore, tweet it using #askjack.
“If not, then please share this with someone you might know who is fucked up and needs a good talking to. Don’t forget to use #askjack.
“I look forward to being able to help you. It’s what I’m good at.”
The message concludes: “My publishers have insisted I tell you that I haven’t [qualified as a psychotherapist] and I am in no way qualified to give you advice.”
The I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue host is not new to the world of being an ‘agony uncle’. He has previously offered advice to viewers via his Help Desk live shows, and his topical TV series Jack Dee’s HelpDesk, which ran on BBC Two between 2015 and 2017.
The publishers say: ” This book will be a rich compendium of your problems along with Jack’s unique, very professional, advice.”
